National Student Pride 2014
Despite a surprise move to London, National Student Pride, who’s ambassadors include Elton John and David Furnish, chose to retain and further build upon their relationship with local event heroes E3 Group – the company behind 2013 Brighton Pride Chairman David Hill.
Last year’s decision to move National Student Pride from Brighton to London was a brave one to make, and the committee clearly felt that they had not been treated as well as they could have been by our fair City.
The move to London has helped the event reach wider audiences and boost ticket sales by over 100%, so it certainly seems that the move to the capital city was a wise one, but behind the scenes on the day was Brighton entertainment design company E3 Group, who’s relationship remained untainted by the move away from Brighton.
E3 first began working with Student Pride in 2011 and 2012 supplying DJ lil Alex from their stable of artists to perform at the event’s club night. In 2013 E3 provided the phenomenal décor for the club night, held in the Brighton Dome (pictured below), along with providing a professional stage manager for both day and night events.
2014 saw the relationship strengthen, despite it’s long-distance nature, and this year E3 provided the full event management and production for the mammoth two floor event, held at prestigious Westminster University (Marylebone Campus) and then Heaven/G-A-Y later in the night. The event played host to a huge indoor festival, the Attitude Magazine debate, and was be attended by a host of celebs and high profile guests including John Amaechi OBE, Lord Wahid Alli, Paris Lees and Evan Davis.
Tom Guy, Student Pride Founder and President said “it’s so great to have a production company on board who have proved themselves time and time again on an international level. Last year’s Brighton Pride was universally acknowledged as the most successful Brighton Pride ever, so we knew we were in safe hands with E3.”
Speaking about the event, David Hill commented “our commitment to National Student Pride is stronger than ever and we are proud to have played a part in this import Pride event. Alongside the production for the event, we’re very happy to be sponsoring the highlights video that will be produced post-event.”
The evening event played host to over a thousand students who were be entertained by pop legends Eternal and Grammy Award winning ‘Foxes’.
