Maria Friedman’s illustrious career has seen her become the most sought after leading lady in musical theatre. Her amazing CV boasts the most desirable roles in the most celebrated productions to grace the London West End and New York’s glamorous Broadway. Maria is as comfortable in front of a camera as she is on stage having acted on both the small and silver screen.

Maria’s formidable theatre credits include musical classics such as Chicago, Oklahoma!, The Lady in the Dark and Sunday in the Park with George. She won her first Olivier Award for her amazing show Maria Friedman: By Special Arrangement and went on to claim two more Best Actress Oliviers for her scintillating performances in Ragtime and Passion. Maria has been described by critics as “completely authentic and seldom less than inspiring” for her role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest musical The Woman in White and seems destined to maintain her well deserved title of the first lady of musical theatre.

Maria has also extended her sizeable talents to television starring in Red Dwarf, the ground breaking Channel four programme War Oratorio and BBC One’s Casualty, where she makes regular appearances as Trish Baynes. Maria also provided the narration for Lloyd Webber’s screen adaptation of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Maria has performed at numerous Proms, with the London Symphony Orchestra, The London Philharmonic Orchestra and at the prestigious Spanish concert Palau de la Musica. It is almost impossible to do Maria’s astounding talents justice but they are guaranteed to transform any event into a musical masterpiece.
