Heather Small was born in London in 1965 and from an early age experienced the profound desire to sing. She was captivated by gospel music`s inspirational elements and influenced by seventies reggae and soul.

Heather fronted her first group, Hot House, whilst still in her teens. Although their potential was never fully realised, Heather had a fortuitous meeting with Mike Pickering, a DJ at Manchester`s famed Hacienda nightclub. After hearing Heather`s unique voice he persuaded her to collaborate with a group he`d just formed. A group called M People that would go on to sell over 10 million records worldwide.

Heather`s dynamic voice and strong song writing credentials marked her out as an exceptional talent in an otherwise producer-led R&B and pop market. Hits such as One Night in Heaven and Moving on Up have stood the test of time.

As a solo artist Heather has enjoyed successes with Proud and, in 2006, Close to a Miracle. Heather has worked for the E3 Group recently, making an extremely popular appearance at the VI Conference for Thomas Cook.
