McFly found fame in 2004 when their debut single Five Colours in Her Hair went to number one in the UK singles chart. The band, formed in London, was founded by Tom Fletcher and also consists of Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd. Their debut album also went straight to number one in the UK, an achievement that landed them in The Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest band to ever do so.
McFly started off 2005 with a Best Pop Award win at the Brits, and later in the year released the charity single All About You, which also contained a B-side cover of Carole King`s You`ve Got a Friend. The proceeds from the single benefited African communities affected by HIV/AIDS and, as a result, the band spent some time early in the year visiting with some of these villages in Uganda.
McFly issued their follow-up record, Wonderland, in the U.K. in August 2005. The third single from Wonderland, I Wanna Hold You, was released in October 2005 and gave them their sixth top three single. Their third album, Motion in the Ocean, was released on 6 November 2006 and again charted in the top ten. The album produced hits including Star Girl and Sorry`s Not Good Enough.
McFly are a fantastic live act and their boyish charm and humour have made them firm favourites with a youth audience.
