Welcome to the world of Mrs. Barbara Nice!

That`s "Mrs"... as in "Married", that`s "Barbara"... as in "Streisand"! ... and "Nice"... as in the "biscuit"!

Until a few short years ago, Mrs Barbara Nice was just like any other four times married Stockport housewife. A mother of five, and keen Take A Break reader, Barbara`s life was what a journalist would describe as mundane, until worrying about her mounting debts with Gratton`s catalogue inspired her to look for evening work.

Circumstances led her to the GAG club in Birmingham where her ability to mother the audience, particularly if they`re young and male, led to her quick promotion from barmaid, to resident compere. Barbara has since given many of the country`s finest young comics the best night of their careers and has become a major comic attraction in her own right.

Now Barbara is on the road to comedy stardom, having developed a storming set of her own. Barbara expands a simple, homespun, common sense philosophy that takes in everything from the problems of wearing `Bodies`, to her views on Bill Gate`s Word for Windows. Her`s is a decidedly old fashioned view of the world, that is strangely right for our times.

Barbara is now wowing audiences all over the country with her unique and exceptional talents and her meteoric rise to comedy cultdom is all the more exceptional because she has kept it a secret from her husband Ken, who thinks she just spends a lot of time down the Bingo!

Barbara Nice is the creation of Janice Connolly.

Janice has recently enjoyed TV fame, playing Holy Mary in the hit series Phoenix Nights, written and starring Peter Kay. She has also appeared as Nurse Nice alongside Lily Savage in Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.
