Chris Tanner was a protégé of the Roux Brothers, beginning his career at Le Gavroche as Commis Chef in 1989. He then spent five years working for them throughout the world before opening Tanner's restaurant in Plymouth with his brother James. Chris is a seasoned television presenter and celebrity chef who has appeared on many of the nations favourite cookery shows, sometimes alongside his brother and fellow chef James. They made their first TV appearance together after filming their own fifteen part TV series The Tanner Brothers. Since then Chris has appeared reglurly as a guest chef on This Morning.

In July 1999 Chris opened Tanner's restaurant in Plymouth, which is located within Prysten House, the oldest building in the city. He opened the restaurant alongside his brother James and their aim is to offer food made only from local ingredients, a relaxed atmosphere and value for money. It was an instant hit from the day the doors first opened securing the coveted title of Best Restaurant of the Year for 2007/8 in the AA Awards.

Chris is the regular UK judge at the Apprentice of Europe Competition held in Montreux in Switzerland. This annual, internationally recognised competition is organised by the Maitres Cuisiniers De France. The organisation is extremely active all over Europe in the promotion of standards and respect in the restaurant industry. Chris has also penned two cookery books with his brother and Fellow Chef James Tanner. The books, focussing on deserts, have been a great success and are entitled For Chocolate lovers and Ice Cream. James is an accomplished Chef, host and Compère. As such he is extremely popular for corporate events requiring someone with in-depth knowledge of the food industry, or those just looking for some exceptional cuisine to inspire their event attendees.
