Pooja Shah is an extremely talented young British Actor who already has an enviable list of credits to her name. Bitten by the acting bug at a young age, Pooja made it her ambition to perform at every available opportunity. After staging a Chekhov play, The Proposal, with a few school friends just for fun, the University of London`s Arts Festival asked her to recreate it. This is testament to Pooja’s special talent.

Pooja soon began appearing in independent films including Jesus the Curry King, which had a run in Odeon cinemas and was the first digital films to be screened in the UK. Pooja enjoyed one of the lead roles in Sky One’s Is Harry on the Boat and guest starred in BBC’s Holby City. She also landed a role in the internationally acclaimed film Bend it Like Beckham, starring alongside Keira Knightley. Pooja is best known for her role as Kareena Ferreira in BBC soap Eastenders. She played the role for two years and was part of one of the soap`s best loved families. Pooja has recently acted in Ten Dead Men and Cash and Curry, two British films released in 2008.

Pooja has a huge amount of theatrical experience having appeared in a wide variety of plays. She appeared in Untouchable for several weeks and recently part of the cast in the play Rafta Rafta staring Meera Syal, which was on at The National Theatre.
