Lee Otway is a much loved actor and singer who gained public recognition as one of Hollyoaks' most memorable characters, David “Bombhead” Burke. Lee always knew his future lay in show business and he landed his first major role in a production of hit west end musical Evita at the age of just seven years old. In his teenage years, Lee continued to land admirable roles on stage and screen appearing in a German opera for six months followed by a role in ITV’s Heartbeat.

Lee auditioned for the role of Jamie Nash on Hollyoaks making it down to the final three contenders. The show’s producers liked Lee so much they created the new character of Bombhead for him, catapulting him to stardom. Lee’s role saw him deal with harrowing story lines such as a mental collapse after the death of his mother and the emotional rollercoaster of being reunited with a long lost father. It is no surprise that Lee’s heartfelt portrayal of these experiences earned him 4 nominations in 2005 at the British Soap Awards for Best Actor, Best Dramatic Performance, Best On-Screen Partnership, Best Storyline and of-course Best Soap.

Lee has since gone on to enjoy successful appearances on ITV’s Soapstar Superstar, where he finished fifth overall and Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes where his amazing vocal talent saw him win the show overall. Lee has taken a break from his musical aspirations as he has several TV and big screen projects in post production.
