On July 26th 2002, Kate Lawler became the first female winner of Big Brother. She won the 3rd series having amassed over 3 million votes from an audience of 9.4 million viewers.
Kate has since built an impressive media career for herself. In 2002 she presented Channel 4’s daily Breakfast show RI:SE with Iain Lee. She has co-presented FIVE’s Party In The Park, The Brit Awards with Foxy for Capital FM, and enjoyed success hosting a top weekly show also on Capital FM - Hit Music Sunday with Andi Peters. Kate has also presented for Celebrity Extra on Living TV, reported on FIVE's Boxing Academy and was recently a strong contender in ITV’s Celebrity Wrestling. Over the summer 2005, Kate wrote a popular weekly column for New! Magazine, covering topics like Big Brother 6, fashion, music and gossip.
In 2006, Kate appeared on the ITV1 reality show Love Island 2, she presented late night dating show Playdate on ITV2 and she appeared on Brainiac: Science Abuse, where she was electrocuted in an electric chair.
Kate is passionate about music and has developed a name for herself as a DJ. She has worked in Europe and Japan and is monthly resident at Manchester club Sankey. In 2007, Kate appeared on the BBC comedy Rob Brydon`s Annually Retentive. She is currentley co-prestenting the Kerrang! Radio 105.2 breakfast show, The morning after alongside Tim Shaw.
