18 year old singer Aidan Grimshaw is among the final 100 contestants that went through on last Sunday’s edition of the X Factor. The singer has earnt much praise in his time on the show, with judge Simon Cowell stating “Now that’s what I call a popstar” in reference to one of his performances.

24 year old singer Katie Waissell had a nervy start to her audition on the ITV show the X-Factor on Saturday night, but she still made it through to the next round with some positive feedback from the judges. Cheryl Cole said she was “won over” whilst other judges referred to her as “likeable” and “charming”. Series 7 of the X Factor began in earnest last Saturday night, acheiving peak viewing figures of nearly 12 million. Judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh are this year joined by former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell.
