E3 Group Open Spanish Office

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

E3 Group opened the doors to another new office on Monday 5th of March… in sunny Spain! The new Majorca base has been set-up to better facilitate our European service contracts with Thomas Cook and Hi! Hotels. David Parker, E3 Group Operations Manager, is currently heading up the new team out there and he had this to say about how things are progressing:

“Things are going extremely well here. The whole team have been extremely busy getting the Majorca Office and training course up and running, managing to find that elusive 25th hour in most days!

Of course the sunny weather has boosted everyone’s motivation and energy levels. The E3 team are a quarter of the way through this years’ new and innovative training course which is getting better each day. The Thomas Cook and Hi entertainers are incredibly responsive and giving 110% of their time and effort.

The entertainers from Thomas Cook had a day off yesterday; they spent it on the beach and sighting-seeing in Palma. It was a well deserved rest and have returned today fresh, rested and ready for another day of song and dance!”

The new office will improve communications with overseas entertainers and allow E3 Group to get more involved with all the fabulous work our entertainers are doing for Thomas Cook and Hi! Hotels. If you should need to contact David Parker or our team overseas don’t hesitate to drop them a line!

Pontin’s Creates New Entertainment Jobs

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

UK holiday park operator Pontin’s has announced the creation of around 2,000 new jobs to be staffed in the coming year. The new posts will include catering, retail and bar staff as well as the all important entertainment providers, the Blue Coats. These new appointments will coincide with a proposed expansion of Pontin’s existing holiday parks as bookings for the Easter and summer seasons sky rocket. Here at E3 we believe a number of factors are contributing to the surge in entertainment jobs on offer at Pontin’s.

The weakening pound is encouraging savvy holiday makers to look closer to home for quick getaways. Last year and during times of more economic good fortune, families would often take two or three holidays abroad a year. Now, these same families are looking to substitute one or two of these trips abroad with holiday destinations closer to home. During the economic downturn, entertainment is proving a great form of escapism and the creation of these new entertainment jobs is a great sign for show business in general during these difficult times

Virtual Auditions

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

The team at E3 Careers are always thinking of innovative ways for talented entertainment professionals to audition for a contract. It’s no longer viable for our team to miss the opportunity of employing the best staff because of geographical, cost or timing issues. As a result our new Recruitment and Training Manager has come up with the ingenious solution of holding virtual auditions. Candidates are auditioned online through Skype video conferencing software. The auditions are carried out just as they would be in person with a dance, vocal and presentation skills section together with a general interview. Candidates can download a video instructing them on how to perform the dance routine required for the audition. Candidates are then judged by the same criteria as they would be at live auditions and given feedback accordingly. This method of audition cuts costs on travel for both auditionees and the E3 team, helping out our troubled environment and recognizing the pressures of the current economic downturn.

For information on how to apply for a virtual audition, please call our offices on 0845 83 82 822 between 9am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

E3-Team Bring in the ‘T’

Monday, January 12th, 2009

E3 Careers has established a tradition of innovative advertising campaigns, including last year’s Talentspotting adverts. This campaign saw the E3 staff recreate the famous Trainspotting poster but rather than choosing life, the team encouraged prospective entertainers to “choose E3 Group, choose a great job overseas, choose a career in the entertainment business”. The adverts were a hit and applications to work for E3 rose significantly.

This year, E3 launched a campaign featuring an iconic figure that has to be a favourite with every kid who remembers the eighties. The one and only Mr. T! As you will be well aware, Mr. T ‘ain’t getting on no plane’ so we had to find the next best thing and brought in a Mr. T doppelganger to do the job for us. “The E3-Team” campaign was born and although Mr. T won’t be getting on a plane any time soon, he strongly encourages you to get the next flight to an E3 entertainment career overseas. So far, response has been fantastic and it goes to show that whether he is selling nutty chocolate bars or careers in the sun, Mr T still has sway with his fans of yesteryear.

Talentspotting

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

The team here at E3 are out talentspotting in 2008! Our new recruitment campaign for 2008 is a gentle parody of the cult British film Trainspotting. It’s not trains we’re on the look out for (not that they were in the film either, exactly) but talented entertainers, entertainment managers and sound and light technicians to work as part of a team on an exciting overseas entertainment programme.
